In much of North America, wild strawberries arrive in sun-drenched meadows and on roadsides late in the spring. Gathering them takes patience and a sharp eye, and they are just as good eaten by the handful while walking as they are taken back to the kitchen. This little strawberry painting is a celebration of those joyful walks, of the year’s first sunburn, of little bursts of sweet, tangy fruit on your tongue.
